I hand twisted and tapered the sterling silver to make these earrings resemble unicorn horns. In the Middle Ages and Renaissance, the unicorn was commonly described as an extremely wild woodland creature, a symbol of purity and grace. The horn itself and the substance it was made of was called alicorn, and it was believed to hold magical and medicinal properties.
The horns are not identical, like natural things, each twisting in opposite direction to each other. They hang on sterling silver ear wires.
