Dreamy, dark blue labradorite beautifully carved into a scarab beetle is all deep dark blue flashes. It is set in a fine silver bezel adorned with a 14k gold Sun disc, with a large marquise shaped closed backplate. It sits on a hammered sterling silver shank with light catching facets, inspired by ancient jewelry. The ring is oxidized to and polished to a luscious tone. This intriguing ring is size 8.5
In ancient Egypt, the beetle was a highly significant symbolic representation of the divine manifestation of the morning Sun. Since the scarab hieroglyph, Kheper, refers to the ideas of existence, manifestation, development, growth, and effectiveness, the beetle itself was a favorite form used for amulets in all periods of Egyptian history.
